OAKLAND CITY HALL AND FRANK H. OGAWA PLAZA VANDALIZED
Frank H. Ogawa Plaza's amphitheater and the side of Oakland City Hall that meets the Plaza were found to be vandalized this afternoon.
Both the amphitheater and City Hall's wall were spray-painted with protests against Oakland's recent elections. Included in the graffiti was newly elected mayor Libby Schaaf's name with red Xs painted over it, in addition to cries against those who voted against Measure FF, the measure to increase Oakland's minimum wage, which didn't pass in the November 4th elections.
A clean-up crew is currently at the Plaza and City Hall to clean up the graffiti. Frank H. Ogawa Plaza is a heart of the city, hosting the Art and Soul Festival every year, which brings in local artists and vendors. The Plaza is also home to the Coast Live Oak, the city's symbol.
